Blue Lotus Water Garden

Yarra Valley and Dandenong Ranges

The Blue Lotus Water Garden is one of the world’s most spectacular floral displays of Lotus Flowers and Waterlily Flowers. The garden has been developed in a “tropical theme” resembling an exotic Asia paradise, right in the heart of the Yarra Valley. It features dozens of ponds, lagoons and lakes all covered in thousands of floral blooms spread over 50,000 square metres. Spectacular sculpture fountains protrude from the lakes intensifying the visual display. Towering banana trees and reed-covered huts line the shores of the waterways, offering shade on those warm summer days. Mass plantings of perennial flowers transform the garden into a sea of colour.

As you wander through this world class ‘seasonal’ water garden you will see spectacular plant displays such as the world’s biggest waterlilies, the Giant Amazon Lily and the Giant Victoria Lily. Or be transported back to the time of dinosaurs when the ancient Oga Lotus bloomed and is now featured in the garden.

Find peace and tranquillity by taking the Bridge Walk through the middle of Monet’s Lake which contains 70 varieties of waterlilies plus a special Claude Monet collection. For the young-at-heart, there is a magical Fairy Garden, featuring fairies, giant mushrooms, fairy houses and flowering plants.
It’s easy to spend a whole day here enjoying the wonderful vistas! An ideal place for a picnic, BBQ or maybe a lovely lunch at the Lily Pond Café. It’s a great day out!
