GEELONG & BELLARINE PENINSULA
Established in 1993 Echidna Walkabout provides high quality nature and wildlife experiences for small groups of international and domestic travellers.
Tours focus on Australia’s magnificent native animals in the wildlife-rich regions of south-eastern Australia. Echidna Walkabout is the proud winner of the 2014 international award for Responsible Tourism: “Best for Wildlife Conservation”.
Wild native animals are the passion of Echidna Walkabout team members. They love all creatures, from the big, fluffy cuties: kangaroos, koalas and wombats; to the small, and popularity-challenged: thornbills (small brownish birds), ants, and spiders!
The whole team believes strongly in treating wild animals with respect, and that by keeping a suitable distance away they endeavour to enjoy wild animals without causing them stress. Wildlife Guides are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and helpful. They want to learn about and to help guide their guests to the most brilliant wildlife experience possible.
Everything is organised for fully guided and catered journeys. Janine and Roger are the founders and owner-operators of Echidna Walkabout, based in Melbourne, Victoria. They both have a strong respect for the environment, indigenous cultures, a passion for wild animals and an interest in environmentally sustainable living.
