Oakdene Vineyards Restaurant and Cellar Door
Geelong & Bellarine Peninsula
Oakdene is a boutique, family owned vineyard located on the stunning Bellarine Peninsula. The original 1920s homestead, has been beautifully restored and transformed into an amazing destination, alongside a unique cellar door and vineyards, art filled, rambling gardens, a restaurant and café.
Cellar door
The Oakdene cellar door is a unique and fascinating building known as the Upside Down House, which is manned by a passionate, small team of locals who, over the years, have developed an intimate understanding of the region and a deep knowledge of Oakdene wines. Visitors can experience guided wine tastings in a fully immersive setting.
The region enjoys a cool, maritime climate, which moderates the weather patterns and results in a long and cool growing season that produces low yields of high-quality fruits. Oakdene produces wines from varieties best suited to the region such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Shiraz alongside popular wines like Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Rose and Sparkling. Dedication to excellence in the vineyard means Oakdene has been consistently recognised as a red five-star winery by the Halliday Wine Companion.
Dining
Oakdene offers two totally different dining experiences suited to any occasion. Guests are able to enjoy the surrounds of the 1920s homestead, offering an exciting contemporary menu of seasonal, local and regional produce, or Mr Grubb @ Oakdene, the on-site bistro nestled among a mass of birch trees, offering a more casual atmosphere and menu.
Both venues offer the perfect setting to match delightful dishes with Oakdene’s estate grown wines.
Accommodation
There are three beautifully appointed and themed accommodation rooms, located above the restaurant that are perfect for a romantic getaway.
