Oakdene Vineyards Restaurant and Cellar Door
Geelong & Bellarine Peninsula
An original 1920s homestead, Oakdene has been beautifully restored and transformed into an amazing destination. Wander through the eclectic gardens, taste their awarded wines in the infamous Up-Side Down House. If you are hungry or just a little peckish Oakdene boasts two fantastic dining options, Marty @ Oakdene in the original homestead for exceptional, contemporary cuisine or for something more casual, visit the café, Mr Grubb @ Oakdene. There is even accommodation in the original farm house above the restaurant.
Visitors can experience guided wine tastings at the unique and quirky cellar door, The Up-Side Down House. Oakdene’s award winning cool climate wines are produced in limited quantities from estate grown fruit.
Oakdene has been recognised as a red five-star winery by the Australian Wine Companion and recently awarded the James Halliday accolade for Best Sauvignon Blanc in Australia. Oakdene also produces other varieties best suited to the region such as Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Shiraz and Pinot Gris. Elegant sparkling wines are also available for tastings with up to 15 wines to taste at any one time. Oakdene also has their very own Olive Oils to sample and gift ideas to peruse.
Oakdene offers two totally different dining experiences. The restaurant, Marty @ Oakdene, located in the stunning 1920s homestead offers an exciting contemporary menu of seasonal, local and regional produce. There is also a private dining room and a spectacular garden. This is the perfect setting to match delightful dishes with Oakdene’s estate grown wines.
The other option is the café, Mr Grubb @ Oakdene, nestled among a mass of birch trees, offering a more casual atmosphere and menu. Enjoy burgers, gourmet pizzas, salads, premium steaks and share plates.
There are three beautifully appointed and themed accommodation rooms, located above the restaurant that are perfect for a romantic getaway.
