TarraWarra Museum of Art is located in the beautiful Yarra Valley wine region. Throughout each year, it presents temporary themed exhibitions within an award-winning building set in the rolling hills of the natural landscape.
Opened in 2003, the Museum is recognised as a major cultural destination in the Yarra Valley, providing visitors with an enjoyable, inspiring experience which combines stunning architecture with the very best of modern and contemporary art.
It showcases a diverse range of innovative Australian and international art in group and collection shows and single artist surveys, giving visitors the opportunity to experience fresh contexts in which to view Australian art today.
Included in the Museum’s diverse range of activities are:
- the annual TarraWarra Festival featuring the Australian Chamber Orchestra;
- the TarraWarra Biennial, a signature exhibition identifying new developments in Australian contemporary art;
- the biennial TarraWarra International showcasing leading contemporary art practice in a global context;
- artist led children’s workshops; artist talks and forums; guided tours; school tours; Museum volunteer talks; family activities and an annual symposium themed to a feature exhibition.
TarraWarra Museum of Art is a publicly owned, privately funded charitable entity.
