Curlewis Golf Club
Geelong & Bellarine Peninsula
The Curlewis course was always highly regarded, but the new owner’s investment has seen it now being recognised as one of the Top 50 Australian Public Access Courses.
Curlewis is now regarded as one of Australia’s most progressive and exciting public-access golf courses and was honoured to receive the inaugural ‘Australian Golf Digest Club Excellence Award’ for their contemporary and forward-thinking approach to golf.
With a sandy base, a minimum of trees, and naturally undulating couch fairways this Vern Morcom designed links is one of the best courses on The Bellarine.
Following the opening of the course in 1970, the original design was again enhanced in 1976 by a Kevin Hartley course master plan.
Curlewis continued its course improvements, under the guidance of renowned course architect Michael Clayton, elevating it to the top echelon of design and conditioning during 2019.
With challenging bunkers and firm, fast greens, it is the wind that often determines the level of playing difficulty. The course measures 6,150 metres and is a challenging par-72. A challenge for players of all standards and a true test of golfing ability.
The comfortable clubhouse offers a wide array of delicious, chef-prepared, dishes in the bistro, along with a renowned a la carte dinner menu every Friday and Saturday night.
Celebrating its first birthday in January 2019, The Range @ Curlewis has become a must-visit for any visitor to The Bellarine. With 18 indoor/outdoor driving bays, a dedicated teaching area and 18 hole two-tiered mini golf course all on-site. The outstanding food and beverage offerings, complemented by a state-of-the-art function facility means The Range @ Curlewis can cater for any corporate or social function.
